Budapest: the Paris of the East

Buda, situated on the West side of the Danube, is green, hilly and mainly residential. On the top of one of the Buda hills you can find the Royal Castle and the oldest district dating back to medieval times. Pest, where our hostel is located, is on the East side of the Danube which is the bustling city-center. Budapest is a city where the historical meets the modern. You will find all kinds of architecture from neo-gothic to baroque to art nouveau.

The city is very popular with young people because of the variety of night spots, live music, art festivals, culture, bohemian atmosphere, sport possibilities, cafés and shopping. It is easy to get around, by foot, metro, blue buses and yellow trams, bike and car. Students are a many and crime is low. Everything is quite affordable and tourists are generally not taken advantage of.
